Typical steps of an overhaul:

  • Removal of old pads, corks, and felts
  • Thorough cleaning (incl. descaling of the neck, care of wooden surfaces)
  • Facing and deburring tone holes
  • Renewal of all springs
  • Soldering and dent removal work
  • Alignment of body, middle joint, and foot joint
  • Adjusting and re-working the entire mechanism
  • Making new axles if necessary
  • Repadding (e.g., with Pisoni Premium Deluxe pads)
  • Renewal of all bumper corks and felts
  • Oiling and professional reassembly
  • Precise final adjustment of the mechanism
  • Response and intonation test
  • Fine-tuning and tonal optimization

The duration of an overhaul is usually approx. two weeks. Due to high demand, a lead time should be expected. Prices are determined individually after assessment.

Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How long does an overhaul take?

The pure processing time is usually around two weeks. Due to high demand, a waiting period of several weeks is currently to be expected.

Which instruments do you repair?

We repair and maintain woodwind instruments such as saxophones, clarinets, or flutes – regardless of the instrument's brand or age.

When does a general overhaul make sense?

An overhaul is recommended if:

  • pads are hardened, heavily soiled or leaking

A quick estimate (within 2-3 minutes) is free and is only carried out in our branch.
