Which baritone saxophone is right for me?

The choice depends primarily on your own playing level. Beginners will find good value for money in affordable entry-level models from Jupiter or Conn. Those who desire a first round and full sound are well advised to consider Martin and Buescher saxophones.

Which mouthpiece and accessories do I need?

The mouthpiece significantly influences the sound — beginners are well advised to use a standard model such as the RICO mouthpiece (approx. €40-60).

For advanced baritone players, we recommend Selmer or Vandoren.

Essential accessories also include: a neck strap with neck padding, reeds of suitable strength (beginners: strength 1.5–2.5), a pull-through swab for cleaning, a mouthpiece patch, cork grease, a sturdy case/ gig bag, and a saxophone stand.
